Remains found outside Enumclaw identified

The King County Medical Examiners Office has confirmed the remains belonged to Kristian Burnstad, who went missing May 2017.

The remains of a body found outside Enumclaw earlier this month have been identified.

The remains were found Sept. 1 at the end of 258th Avenue Southeast, outside Enumclaw and close to Bass Lake.

It was postured they belonged to Kristian Burnstad, who was reported missing by his parents in May 2017.

The King County Medical Examiners Office confirmed the remains belonged to Burnstad yesterday evening, Sept. 13.

The last known sighting of Kristian was on February 7, 2017 in Enumclaw, a press release stated, adding the examiners will determine cause and manner of death at a later date.

The King County Major Crimes Detectives will continue the investigation on this case with the help of Enumclaw PD.
