Enumclaw native and NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne with the help of Super Bowl champion Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson are co-hosting a charity event called The Drive.

While donations have been collected online, the event will kick off on Monday, June 23 at CenturyLink Field.

The pep rally is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. with the doors opening at 11 a.m.

Wilson and Kahne will speak during the pep rally “about what it takes to be the best version of yourself,” according to the charity’s website, thedriveevent.org.

The rally is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted during the pep rally.

Joining Wilson and Kahne will be Seahawks Jermaine Kearse and Max Unger along side former baseball player Johnny Damon, Fox Sports Live host Charissa Thompson, the Sea Gals and others.

To conclude the pep rally, Andre Hairston will lead participants in a “cardio craze” workout.

The two day fundraiser will continue June 24 at the Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum.

A celebrity concert and golf tournament will be held to continue to the goal of the campaign.

“The goal of The Drive is to bring awareness for Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and raise funds for the club’s programs that support feeding children and educating young people on living a healthy lifestyle,” according to the website.

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County serve more than 17,000 youth per year.

“While Kasey has roots here in Washington, I’m working hard to grow mine in this community,” Wilson said in an article on Kahne’s Foundation’s website. “Together, we plan to put on a great event that will move the Boys & Girls Club of King County further down the field in their mission of serving thousands of youth in the community.”

The campaign is helping to raise money to purchase two new minibuses that help transport club members to their clubs and to field trips.

People who would like to donate can pick what athlete’s team their money donated goes to – Wilson or Kahne.

At the time of press, Kahne was in the lead with more than $3,000 and Wilson had a little over $1,000 donated under his team.

Both of their goals is to raise $25,000. Donations will be accepted until June 25.

“It’s very important to me to stay connected with the Seattle area and the state of Washington,” Kahne said in an article on his foundation’s website.
