East Pierce firefighters responded to a three-car crash at the north end of Lake Tapps.

According to East Pierce Battalion Chief Rick Goetz, one vehicle appeared to have slowed to turn when another vehicle slammed into it and a third vehicle at the intersection of West Tapps Drive East and Sumner-Tapps Highway East at 4 p.m.

Three of East Pierce’s four medic units were used to transport seven patients, including children, to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
