DUI: At 12:49 p.m. Aug. 4, an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Church Street. The driver, who was younger than 21-years-old, performed voluntary field sobriety tests and was determined to be under the influence. The driver was placed under arrest.

SAME PLACE, SIMILAR STORY: At 3:27 a.m. Aug. 4, another driver was stopped for speeding on Church Street. The officer smelled a strong odor of fresh cannabis and intoxicants coming from the drivers window. The driver, under 21 years of age, performed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DUI and possession.

ASSAULT: At 2:19 p.m. an officer was summoned to a Rainier State School ORCAS house for a client-on-client assault. The officer contacted the duty office, where a staffer explained two clients had been in a fight, but neither had a mental capacity exceeding that of a 5-year-old. A case report was completed and forwarded to investigations.

NO INTERLOCK, MO’ PROBLEMS: At 1:34 a.m. August 5, an officer on Mountain View observed a vehicle with a defective license plate driving with its radio blaring. The driver pulled partially into a driveway and parked on the sidewalk. The officer pulled behind the vehicle and contacted the man, who appeared to be very intoxicated. He was placed under arrest for DUI and violating a requirement to have an ignition interlock. He was also in possession of drug paraphernalia caked with residue in the bowl.

FELONY WARRANT: At 12:09 a.m. Aug. 7, an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on state Route 410 near the Upper Cemetery Road. Dispatch advised the driver had a felony warrant; he was placed under arrest and taken to jail. The vehicle was impounded.
