The community of Sumner and its surrounding neighbors will gather at 11:30 a.m. Friday to participate in a sign raising event for the future YMCA.

The event will take place at the corner of 64th Street East and 160th Avenue East in Sumner, where the 100,000 square feet campus will be erected.

A presentation will be held with commentary from Mayor Dave Enslow and YMCA President and CEO Bob Eklund.

“The Sumner Y will be 100,000 square feet of healthy living space, including: recreational and warm water therapy pools, group fitness classes, a sauna and steam room, community areas, a teen center, and a fantastic arts center,” said Ecklund. “The Y will serve as a community hub for Sumner, giving people of all ages and backgrounds a place to belong and feel at home.”
