Beatrice Bard

Enumclaw resident Beatrice Bard, 86, died Oct 4, 2011.

She was born Dec. 28, 1924, to George and Lottie (Hislop) Beckwith in New London, Conn. She grew up in New London and sang on local radio shows with her sister Shirley. She met her future husband Joe while he was on leave from the Army during World War II. The couple moved to Seattle in 1957 to work for Boeing. She was a personnel supervisor at Boeing headquarters and worked there for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and TOPS. She liked crafts, playing the piano and collecting postcards. She found joy in serving her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by sons Joseph Bard Jr. and wife Janis of Maple Valley, Wash., and George Bard of Lake Cushman; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Joe Bard Sr. on March 24, 2009.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw.

Remembrances may be made in her name to Calvary Presbyterian Church.
