Bernadine Bennek of Enumclaw died May 18, 2019 at home. She was 96.

Born Dec. 22, 1922 in Queens, NY, she had lived in this area for the past 35 years.

She was an executive legal secretary for a law firm in NYC for nine years. She moved to Clifton, NJ to marry and raise her family. She worked an additional 10 years as an international expediter till her retirement and moved to WA in 1984.

She was a woman of great faith and an active member in church, always.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Bennek Aug. 21, 2000 and son-in-law Paul Kozak June 28, 2018.

Survivors include son Richard Bennek and wife Gail of Garmantown, NY; daughters Catherine Panasiuk and husband Sam of Enumclaw, WA Bernadine Polish and husband Len of Penllyn, PA, Ann Kozak of Whiting, NJ, Patricia Baldasari and husband Mike of Farmingdale, NJ and her sixth child in her heart, Faye Hanrahan of Clifton, NJ; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She has left a cherished legacy and will live on in our hearts forever.

Services were May 23, 2019 with burial next to her love and best friend in Evergreen Memorial Park.
