Bruce Denny Schweikl

Bruce Denny Schweikl, 64, of Maple Valley, died Oct. 19, 2014, following a battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Seattle to the late Marvin (Bud) and Joan Lochridge Schweikl. He was raised in Auburn and went to

Auburn High School where he excelled in baseball and football. Shortly after graduation,he married Tanya Bowen, who died of cancer two years later. He then married Colette Witkowski and they moved to Enumclaw to raise their children. They later divorced and he married Ginny Schermele in 1998; moved to Maple Valley. He worked in commercial construction for more than 30 years, first with Baugh Construction in Seattle then with McClone Construction in Maple Valley until his retirement in 2009. He then pursued his passion of fishing and golfing with his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by wife Ginny; son Craig Schweikl and daughter Alisha (Johan) Sperling, both of Seattle; mother-in-law Doris Schweikl of Kent, Wash.; sisters Gail Nordeen and Lisa Mallory; stepchildren Mike (Lori) Schermele, Keith (Bridget) Schermele, Chuck (Kathy) Schermele and Kris (Matt) Lane; and 10 stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sister Laurie.

A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Edline-Yahn Funeral Home in Covington.
