Carolyn Sue Mitzel died May 27, 2011, at her Enumclaw, home, following a long battle with lung cancer.

She was born Sept. 26, 1946, in Portland, Ore., to Ellis and Ethel Kestner. In December 1965, she married Allen Mitzel. She retired early from management position with Boeing and became busier operating her business Herbal Soaps and More, card making, gardening, knitting and traveling.

She is survived by her husband Allen; daughters Leah and Rachel; her mother; siblings Dean Kestner and Theresa Alden; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her father and sister JoAnne Kestner.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hope Lutheran Church, 1316 Garfield St., Enumclaw, 98022.
