Darwina Wallace

She was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Montpelier, Ohio, to the late Allie and Chester Wallace.

Darwina Carlene Wallace died Sept. 15, 2018, in Enumclaw.

She was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Montpelier, Ohio, to the late Allie and Chester Wallace. After finishing high school in 1962, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, and worked for the city of Detroit for 31 years. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Wayne State University in 1991, graduating summa cum laude, and was a member of PSI CHI, the National Honor Society of Psychology and Phi Beta Kappa. She loved playing card games with friends and family, gardening and fairy gardens. She was obsessed with Starbucks and a great joy in life were her beloved Chihuahuas. She will be remembered as a spirited woman, strong, independent and opinionated.

She became a woman of adventure in 2006 with her retirement, traveling to Australia, Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, British Columbia and Washington state.

Due to a stroke in 2016, she moved to Washington state to be closer to family. She gained many new friends, reignited her faith and read extensively.

She is survived by sister Anna Wagner and brother James (Lynn). She was preceded in death by brother William Wallace (June) and sisters Theda Clark (Earl), Margaret Elsie Palmer (John) and Iris Pace (James).
