It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our father David B. Puryear, Sr. on August 10, 2019, at the age of 88. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sara (Sally) in 1996. He and his family lived in Enumclaw from 1979 through 1991. His two youngest daughters attended Enumclaw’s elementary, middle and high schools, and the family was very involved in the local community.

David was an engineer and designed for many companies and retired from after a very successful engineering career from Jesse Engineering in Tacoma. He joyfully attended The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Enumclaw and drew great comfort from his studies and the friendships he formed.

David is survived by son David (Deah) Puryear of High Point, NC, son Daniel (Linda) Puryear of Olympia, daughter Lianne (Ben) Puryear Loo of Ocean Park, daughter Nancy Erickson of Auburn, and daughter

Laura (David) Puryear Giardullo of Olympia. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service for David B. Puryear, Sr. will be held at Buckley Hall located at 127 North River, Buckley WA, on Saturday, October 19, from 1:30–3:30. If you would like to make a contribution in David’s memory, please send it to the Environmental Defense Fund.
