Donald Kermit Keen passed on to be with God September 13, 2019. He was born in Austin, Minnesota October 9, 1942 to Kermit LeVerne and Helen Ida Keen. The family moved to the Grays Harbor area and he spent his early years there. Don graduated from Santa Cruz High School in California. He received his AA from Ventura Junior College, his BS from Cal State University Long Beach, and his Master’s in Business Administration from Oklahoma City University. In 1963 he served in the Navy with the Sea Bees stationed in Japan.

Don met the love of his life Connie Yvonne Hand and they were married fifty-four years on September 5, 2019. Donald and Connie had three children Jeffrey Kermit Keen, Kara Alicsha Albright and Heather Meryle Emmett (Joe). Don is survived by his wife Connie; sister Sandra Schlesser (Bob); three brothers Jim (Kathy), Gene (Tammy) and Jerry Keen; three children; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Don was devoted to his family. He was the best husband and father who will be greatly missed.

He took many hunting and fishing adventures and loved his camping trips. He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and Cedar River Bowmen.

In recent years he took up archery and loved having breakfast with the men. He is a past member of Enumclaw Garden Club and a founding member of the work on the Foothills Trail. Don wrote the grant for the Starbucks Park project and was very proud of the civic beautification at Dwight Garrett Park. He was a past member of Puyallup Gem & Mineral Club and loved all the fieldtrips. He was a hard worker. He built a new home in Veazie then moved to Oklahoma. He taught at the Federal Aviation Academy and advanced to the Renton facility with the FAA. He retired in 2005 and loved going on his adventures.

Pulmonary Fibrosis took his life too soon. Remembrances may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St. Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5th at 3:00 pm at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1725 Porter Street, Enumclaw, WA 98022. Interment will be at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park.
