Buckley resident Donna Lee (Petty) Baydek, 81 died Monday December 11, 2017 in Auburn.

Buckley resident Donna Lee (Petty) Baydek, 81 died Monday December 11, 2017 in Auburn, Wa. to Wayne and Evelyn (MacKenzie) Petty.

Donna grew up on the South Fork in Raymond, Wa. with her 2 younger sisters Deanna and Pamela. She was a member of Rainbow Girls and a 1954 Raymond High School Honor student graduate.

Married 63 years to Louis G. Baydek, the couple made their home in Buckley since 1957 where they raised their 3 children Mark, Kim and Rebecca.

Donna enjoyed making new friends, helping others, and being a member of the local Women’s Orthopedic Guild.

She enjoyed gardening, collecting glassware and quilting. She was an avid reader, loved a good daily crossword puzzle and was a keen sports enthusiast. Donna was either watching a game on TV or sitting in the bleachers being No. 1 fan at her children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Her love of family and travel took her to many interesting places. She enjoyed researching her Cherokee and Nova Scotian ancestry.

The beach was her favorite place to visit, perhaps this is why her favorite color was blue.

Donna is survived by loving husband Louis, sister Pamela Ekrem (Don), son Kim Baydek (Heidi), daughter Rebecca Baydek Lavinder ( Gary),

8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Deanna Turner and her son Mark Baydek.

Graveside services were held on December 15, 2017 beside her son at Fernhill Cemetery Menlo, Raymond, Wa.
