James Bock

Former area resident James Edward “Jym” Bock, most recently of Rock Springs, Wyoming, died Jan. 30, 2018.

He was born June 27, 1945, in Auburn, Washington, to the late George Bock Sr. and Emma Bock. He graduated in 1963 from White River High School and earned a degree from Green River Community College. He was a military veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during both the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; brother George Bock Jr. (Teri); sisters Uretta Lykstad (Richard) and Helen Crossler (Jim); daughters Teresa and Traci Medcalf (Shaun); son Jeffery Bock (Felicia); stepchildren Thalo Porter, William Shae Porter (Tina) and Marcus Porter (Kris); and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters Juanita Winter and Suzanne Irwin and brother John Bock.

A service took place Feb. 10 at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center.

A memorial-reunion is being planned for a later date.
