Jean Corn

Jean Corn, 84, of Kent died March 11, 2016.

She was born June 6, 1931, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Marion and Gladys Eller. She married Dale Corn in Lewiston on Aug. 20, 1950. She attended Northern Idaho College of Education in Lewiston and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree. For 25 years she taught for the Auburn Head Start program, a job she loved and was proud of. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with her husband, something they did often, especially to Arizona in the winter. They were part of a group called The Playgroup that often traveled and went on activities. She was known to grow beautiful flowers, especially roses, and will be remembered most for her love and devotion to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Corn of Auburn; daughter Sue Godfrey of Yakima, Wash.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald D, Corn in 2005 and son-in-law Jace Godfrey in 1994.

Memorial donations can be made to the Auburn Head Start Program at Auburn Youth Resources, 1000 Auburn Way S., Auburn, 98002.

A memorial service took place Saturday, March 19, at Auburn Methodist Church.
