Buckley resident John E. Bookter died Sept. 27, 2015.

He spent 25 years as a local baker and the last several years working the fair circuit as a food concessionaire.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lauri Bookter; children Lloyd Bookter of Sekiu, Wash., Kari Bookter of North Bend, Wash., and Mary Parr of Buckley; brothers Karl Bookter of San Angelo, Texas, Paul Bookter of Snoqualmie, Wash., and Roy Bookter of North Bend, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sister Flossie Spear of Kirkland, Wash.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Masonic Lodge in Enumclaw.
