Lawrence Bellack

Former area resident Lawrence G. “Larry” Bellack, 87, died Sept. 27, 2016, at his residence in Ocean Park, Wash.

He was born July 18, 1929, in Enumclaw to George and Alma Bellack. He grew up in the Enumclaw-Boulevard Park area and, for more than 30 years, operated his own home delivery milk route in Seattle. Many children celebrated their birthday with gifts of chocolate milk and he was known to “carry” some accounts when times were tough, bringing home furniture and even rabbits in exchange for dairy products. Later, he became a beer truck driver for K&L Beverage in Seattle prior to retirement. He was a proud member of the Teamsters union. He had married Betty on July 26, 1954.

When living in Enumclaw, he enjoyed his five-acre ranch where he raised beef, chickens, pigs and sheep and took pride in his vegetable garden. Twenty-three years ago he moved to Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula where he was a member of both Ocean Park Moose and Ocean Park Eagles. On the Peninsula he continued his gardening, sharing the bounty with friends, and took pride in his yard.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Ocean Park; sons George (Karen) and Edward (Valerie); daughter Tammy Brietenbach (Dave); sisters Barbara Shaw, Cookie Harrison and Evelyn Colella; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Linda Marll and sisters Mary Wilkerson, Agusta O’Connor and Dorthy Collela Ulrich.

At his request there was no formal service. His guest book is available at http://www.penttilaschapel.com/.
