Enumclaw resident Lela Slade, 59, died March 27, 2015.

She was born May 12, 1955, in Port Angeles, Wash. She was a writer, painter and wood carver. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard and being with family. She married John Slade on March 1, 1984, in Sumner.

She is survived by her husband John of Enumclaw; daughters Nicole M. Herrington and husband Jerry of Bonney Lake and

Timara Slade of Federal Way; sister Verna Jacobs of Port Angeles; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Weeks’ Funeral Home in Buckley.
