Longtime Enumclaw resident Mark A. Hanson died Dec. 22, 2016, in Surprise, Ariz. He was 65.

He was born May 13, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Fred and Aletha Hanson. His family relocated to Enumclaw in the early 1960s and he graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1969. He made his home in Enumclaw and had a 35 year-career with the Kenworth truck company. He enjoyed swimming, hiking, traveling, trivia/history and classic cars. Upon retirement in 2006, he and his wife Judy relocated to Surprise, Ariz., to spend their post-working days in the sun.

He is survived by his wife Judy of Surprise; son Eric (Shannon) of Enumclaw; stepdaughters Bonnie (James) Makin of Portland, Ore., and Babette (Rob) Romancier of Albany, Ore.; stepsons Brett (Kim) Brundage of Denver, Colo., and Bryan Brundage of Great Falls, Mont.; and 11 grandchildren.
