Michael D. Prather Sr. died at his home in Federal Way, Washington, on Oct. 30, 2017, following a short battle with cancer.

Michael D. Prather Sr. died at his home in Federal Way, Washington, on Oct. 30, 2017, following a short battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 27, 1950. He was an automotive technician for years until starting his own mobile mechanic business which he operated until he retired. He was always “making memories” with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, enjoying holidays and riding. He had a passion for speed: he loved fast cars, riding UTVs in the sand dunes and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his brother Ron (Marsha); daughter Michelle (Bruce); son Michael (Tracy); six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife Patti.

A service honoring his life is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Cedar Community Church, 192 Cedar St., Buckley, 98321.
