Buckley resident Michael Vollmer, 71, died May 8, 2019.

He was born July 31, 1947, at a Auburn hospital to Gus and Lee Vollmer. He grew up in Buckley, graduated from White River High School and attended Green River College in Auburn. He married Dorothy Conrad of Enumclaw in 1996 and together they raised two children. He was a locomotive electrician for Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring after 40-plus years of service. He enjoyed playing softball and pool and is remembered for his generosity and his handlebar mustache.

He is survived by son Mike Vollmer of Auburn; daughter Vicki Brennan (Mike) of Post Falls, Idaho; brothers Terry Vollmer and Kevin Vollmer (Gail) of Buckley; sister Debbie Johnson (Doug) of Bonney Lake; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Buckley Eagles at a later date.
