Phyllis Irene Dean died Jan. 23, 2015, in Puyallup. She was 75.

A Maple Valley resident, she was born Jan. 26, 1939, in Rawlins County, Kansas, to Mark and Adeline Ryan. She married Jerry Dean on Aug. 13, 1960, in Atwood, Kan., and then moved to Washington. She retired from the Mukilteo School District. She enjoyed shopping and playing cards but most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerry Dean of Maple Valley; daughters Michelle LaBorde (Ted) and Tammy Iverson of Enumclaw: brothers Patrick Ryan (Betty) of Gem, Kan., and MJ Ryan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister Shirley Hess of Hayes, Kan.; brother-in-law Darrell McMillan of Atwood, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, Feb. 28, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Black Diamond.

Remembrances are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
