Raymond E. Osborn of Enumclaw died peacefully on Dec. 10, 2015.
He was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Enum-claw, Wash-ington, where he spent his childhood and most of adult life. Soon after graduating from high school in June 1946 he joined the U.S. Navy, where he had the unique opportunity to serve alongside his brother, Emery. He married Maryann Bowman on Oct. 21, 1949. He owned and operated a small dairy farm before working at Weyerhaeuser as a boss on the green chain and dry kiln. It was while working at Weyerhaeuser that he gained his “fame” as an actor in the Disney movie “Charlie the Lonesome Cougar.” After his retirement from Walsh Brothers Trucking and the death of his wife, he relocated to Puyallup, where he spent his time with Sue Fujita enjoying walking the South Hill Mall, bowling and watching Seattle Seahawks and Mariners games.
He is survived by sons Bruce (Lois) and Mike (Connie); daughters Pam Elder (Mike), Trudi Schipper (Greg); sister Evelyn Pedersen; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and brother.
A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Weeks’ Enumclaw Funeral Home.
