Roy Dal Santo

Roy Dal Santo died May 1, 2016.

He was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Black Diamond to the late Joseph and Anna Dal Santo. He graduated from White River High School (Enumclaw division) in 1951 and, in 1958, he married Shirley Welsh. He started working at the Enumclaw Safeway store at the age of 18, then worked for Enumclaw Food Center, Piggly Wiggly, Bag and Save and, to cap a 45-year career in the grocery business, he retired from the Enumclaw QFC store at the age of 62. He was a 65-year member of the Black Diamond Eagles, a 30-year member of the Enumclaw Kiwanis and served 16 years on the Enumclaw City Council.

He was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church for 58 years, serving in numerous roles, and ran the Enumclaw Food Bank for 18 years with friend Lawton Case.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Dal Santo; daughters Kara Dal Santo, Kathy Anderson and Gayle Mollerstruen; brother Joe Dal Santo; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Jules, Johnny and Leo Dal Santo and sisters Ange Goldsberry and Lynda Maks.

Services are planned for 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Franciscan Hospice of the Enumclaw Food Bank.
