Valda Anderson

Valda Anderson died June 19, 2016, at the age of 92.

She was born Feb. 1, 1924, in Ava, Mo. She married Charles Anderson in 1947 in Seattle and worked at Boeing for 35 years as a librarian. She was very active in church, starting with Calvary Lutheran in Federal Way, where she was a charter member, a superintendent of Sunday school and head of the women’s guild. She later way active at Trinity Lutheran in Enumclaw. She loved to travel, sew, do needlepoint and bake.

She is survived by sister Ruth Surguine of Kent; sister-in-law Carolyn Surguine of Yuma, Ariz.; daughters L. Vernette (Helmut) Rae of Bellevue, Wash., Janis (Al) Pichetto of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Linda (Ridge) Hottle of Auburn; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 1991.

Remembrances can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Enumclaw.
