William W. Johnson died Aug. 7, 2019, at home in Puyallup, Washington.

William W. Johnson died Aug. 7, 2019, at home in Puyallup, Washington.

He was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Tacoma to Waino and Lillian Johnson. The family lived in Carbonado, where he was raised and lived for 79 years.

He retired from Weyerhauser, where he worked for 44 years. He was an avid bowler in his younger years and would tell stories of bowling in the same leagues as Earl Anthony. He loved to hunt and fish and was a collector of antiques.

He is survived by his wife Alice Jane; daughters Jane Johnson (Jodie White), Trudi Flagg (Brian) and Marci Bitner (Brian); sisters Beverly Ross (Neil), Judy Bauman (Dennis) and Linda Strub (Bill); brother John Johnson (Sheila); six grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A celebration of his life took place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Wilkeson Eagles.
