Letter to the editor: Myopic view of the media is pretty amazing

In reply to Mr. Scribner (Letter to the Editor, Aug. 19), I believe it was Stalin who said: "One death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic."

I hope and I am sure Dan feels the same empathy for the millions put to death by the dictators and despots of the world, and so far I haven't seen any NRA offers of "cash for tanks."

But I do remember a couple of incidents involving tanks. There was the one in China where a line of tanks ran over student protestors and another one down in Texas when the Clinton/Reno team incinerated men, women and children.

And Dan's myopic view of the media is pretty amazing. After all, Rupert Murdoch did support Hillary in 2008. Sounds like a vast right-wing conspiracy to me and I am also pretty sure that Dan is banging his head against the wall as firearms sales are through the roof.

I feel for you, Dan. I know you will let us know if someone is shot on Mount Rainier. Finally, to quote Mr. Scribner's letter: "You do not need to use curse words to try to insult me or us weenies. That alone implies a certain amount of intelligence. Both are nice to see from the usual Repugnican."

I feel I've been complimented, insulted and subjected to major condescension all in the same paragraph.
