Arts Alive! chasing community support
Are you looking for a way to destress yourself or make a difference in someone’s life? Here is an easy way to do just that! Let art touch your life and the life you change might be your own! And...we have the perfect way to do just that!
Arts Alive! is looking forward to a busy fall. Many local artists have their work in the gallery...many beautiful and unique gifts can be found right here on Cole Street. If you haven’t been in lately, stop by and you will enjoy your time spent in the gallery and perhaps find just the right card and gift for that special person in your life.
Several classes are going on that are that might be just what you or someone in your family is looking for. Helma Raycher teaches oil, acrylic and woodcarving classes. Elaine Lynest is doing classes on pastel, painting and drawing. Helena P continues with her acrylic class. Lisa Stewart is doing art classes for children and Lorrie Maras continues with her watercolor classes.
Wow! Hope you can come to one of those!
Have you stopped in to see “a LOT of art” in the parking lot next to the gallery and chamber? It will be there on Aug. 28 and Sept. 18 from 10 a.m to 5pm. Come see the artists at work as well as their art.
Every Friday the gallery is open until 7 p.m..
At 7 on the first Friday the Plateau Art League meets. If you are interested in art come see what is going on.
The second Friday brings the Poetry Jam and that is always open to come and enjoy listening or reading your favorite poem or your own poetry.
In ending I would like to send a big thank you out to all our members. Because of your support we can continue our grant and scholorship program as well as maintain the Arts Alive! Gallery. If you are not a member please consider joining soon. If you have been a member would you reconsider and join again? Since Arts Alive! started over 25 years ago, with the support of the community and its membership we have been able to put $300,000 back into the arts on the Plateau. We would like to see that same show of support continue as we have had in the past with an increase in new membership. Can you help make this happen?
Hope to see you soon.
Lorrie Maras, Arts Alive! chairwoman
