In recent editions of the Enumclaw and Bonney Lake/Sumner Courier Heralds I have read about various concerns about Matt Richardson’s background as it relates to being our senator. Other concerns have been raised about the incumbent, Pam Roach. There are many of us who have come to the conclusion that neither the incumbent nor the challenger is a great choice. Fortunately, our state offers us another option.

I have just heard that a new candidate has stepped forward in the 31st District Senate race. Brian Gunn, a 48-year-old father with a daughter who recently graduated from Washington State University, is stepping forward as a write-in candidate. Brian has lived in Washington for the last 16 years and I know him to be a hard-working and honorable man.

For those of you who want an option other than Roach or Richardson, I encourage you to write in Brian Gunn on your ballot for this Senate race. He is far better than either of the two choices we have before us.
