Washington State Parks has chosen to close Federation Forest as of June 30, 2011, as part of a $10 million budget shortfall.

Washington State Parks’ 2013 plan/mission statement has, as its No. 1 priority, stewardship and resource protection to “take care of what we have.” Federation Forest, a 50-year-old park, is being closed while new parklands are being acquired and developed which is contrary to the No. 1 priority of the mission statement.

Thank you for you years of support of the greatest old-growth park in Washington state.
