Vogel gets vote to stay on the board

Last year was a tough year for the White River School District and many, many other districts across the state. We had a huge budget cut due to state funding. Both my boys were in schools that ended up being closed: White River Middle School and Wickersham. It was a tough year for all involved. But looking back on, I am very thankful Tom Lockyer had the foresight to work on options early on and for the dedication of Denise Vogel.

I noticed that Denise Vogel is being challenged this election for the White River School Board. This really saddens me. This position is a volunteer position and Denise did above and beyond what was expected from her last year. Not only was she at the PTA meetings for all the schools when we were talking budget cuts, she was there before visiting and after. I liked that Denise was able to repeat in plain English what were some of the issues we were facing at the school board budget meeting. I noticed that she did this at PTA meetings for both sides. She understands where we the parents are coming from and questioned some of the same concerns. She even was at my child’s elementary school at the open house last month.

I do not think that Denise Vogel’s shoes could be easily filled and would be a great loss to the district if she is not re-elected for the White River School Board District 3. Please vote this election and check the ballet for Denise Vogel.
