Something happened between the Administration and Finance meeting I attended and the final presentation to the Buckley City Council for approval.

The City Administrator requested an additional year on his present contract.

What he received was a $10,000 bonus, more money into his retirement fund and five months of pay should he be terminated without cause during the life of that contract. When asked what that was going to cost – no one knew.

Apparently our little city is not as cash strapped as the Mayor and the Administration and Finance committee members profess or as one council member stated, “the City Administrator is wearing a very powerful brand of cologne.”
