At a track he grew up racing, Enumclaw’s Kasey Kahne returned home to win the Sage Fruit Showdown Friday night at Skagit Speedway.

Kahne, who now runs the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit, was running second behind Seth Bergman for the first half of the 360 sprint 20-lap main event.

Kahne bested the field on a late-race restart to earn his first trip to victory lane here at home since the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup in 2003.

Kahne, 16th in drivers standings and fighting for the 12th and final spot in the Chase for the Championship, returns to NASCAR Sprint Cup racing Sunday night in Atlanta.
