Four returning letter winners and a move to the South Puget Sound League 2A is perking up the spirits of the White River High girls golf team.

The Hornets return letter winners, seniors Tia Johnson and Christina Parker, and sophomores Drew McCarty and Caitlyn Miller. Johnson just missed a trip to the state tournament in May.

Newcomers to the program include junior Danielle Garner, sophomores Sutton Mills and Taylor Wombacher, and freshmen Hannah Dominguez and Ashley Ziemer.

Coach Jer Argo said the team looks forward to playing the courses the league’s newcomers bring. He is also excited about the home and away schedule. The Hornets will play the six teams in the SPSL 2A twice, starting Tuesday, results were not available at press time, and with Steilacoom Thursday.
