A good turnout greeted Enumclaw High coach Jeff Jacobson, who is looking for another season of cross country success.

The strength of the program now rests on the girls side of the program. The Hornet girls placed second in last season’s subdistrict meet, thus earning a trip to the state cross country meet, where they raced to a 15th-place finish.

The good news is two of the top three postseason performers – Emily Eilertson and Chandler Weiman – are back. Julia Harris also is an experienced varsity runner.

The EHS boys team also has a couple of top runners returning in Cory Johnson and John Williams.

The boys team was fourth at subdistricts a season ago.

The Hornet cross country program kicks off its season today, Wednesday, by hosting a jamboree on its home course at Nolte State Park.
