If experience contributes toward success on the soccer field, the White River Hornets should be in for some good times.

Coach Charlie Carlier has just two seniors on this year’s club, but boasts plenty of underclassmen with extensive playing time at the varsity level. His varsity roster was dotted with freshmen a season ago.

Leading the way in the experience department are four-year varsity performers Morgan Brown and Nicole Partlow, who will serve as team captains along with junior Chloe Sharp.

Although it’s too early to be certain, Carlier figures this year’s team will focus on its defensive tenacity rather than scoring a lot of goals, with the result being a lot of close, low-scoring affairs.

When the Hornets score, the most likely sources are Cassidy France and Ashley Powell.

Other key players include Kylie Englebert, who started a year ago as a freshman, and Hana Rhodes, a junior and third-year defender.
