WRHS CROSS COUNTRY: Gould, Wate cross tape first in meet

The White River High cross country program had great success Thursday at Franklin Pierce, as both the boys and girls teams rang up 15-50 victories.
For the Hornet boys, Kody Gould took first-place honors with a time of 17 minutes, 21 seconds. Matt Salsbury was second at 18:14 and Hayden Zirkle was third with a time of 18:18.
In the girls race, White River’s Lauryn Wate was the overall winner in a time of 20:49. Kelly Coyle was second at 23:34 and Julia Johnson was third in 23:39.
The Hornets traveled Saturday to Lake Sammamish and the Bellevue Invitational. The White River boys placed 20th overall and the girls were 33rd.
