EHS SWIM AND DIVE: Hornets pace for districts

The Hornets won all 12 events en route to a 140-35 league win over Bonney Lake in girls swimming Thursday in Sumner.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Cassie Cook, Bella Davenport, Erin Stucker and Erin Wessel set the pace with a first-place, district-qualifying time of 2 minutes, 15.33 seconds. Hornets Carlie Cairnes, Katie and Allie Larrea and Ali Ballard were right behind in 2:18.16.

Rachel Holston won the 200 freestyle. Carly Hinman won the 200 individual medley. Hornets Stucker, Wessel and Ballard swept the 50 freestyle respectively.

Erica Bonthuis coasted to first in diving.

The Hornets also swept the 100 butterfly with Stucker, Hinman and Lori Lamm finishing first, second and third respectively. EHS also went 1-2-3 in the 100 freestyle with Holston, Davenport and Wessel.

Ballard and Jamie Ritzdorf finished 1-2 in the 500 freestyle.

The 200 and 400 freestyle teams won with a district-qualifying times.

Cook was first in the 100 backstroke and Davenport won the 100 breaststroke.
