White River High’s volleyball bunch started on a positive note hosting winless Clover Park Oct. 5 and reeling in the anticipated conquest in straight sets 25-7, 25-17, 25-13.

In its second match of the week, White River traveled to 8-0 Fife’s house and lost to the Trojans 25-10, 25-16, 25-16.

Coach Stryder Argo was painfully accurate with his appraisal of Fife’s senior spire, Jessica Miller, who gleaned a dozen kills.

White River’s predominantly junior crew is currently ranked second in the SPSL 2A with a 6-2 bottom line after play of last week, having lost only to Fife on those two aforementioned separate occasions.

Leading the Hornets statistically was junior middle hitter Dannie Stroud, who managed 19 kills during the split decisions.
