The Enumclaw High girls placed second and the boys were fourth Saturday, competing in cross country subdistrict action at Fort Steilacoom Park.

Both Hornet varsity teams earned the right to advance to this week’s district meet at American Lake Golf Course. Competition is set for Saturday.

At subdistricts, EHS competed against the rest of the South Puget Sound League 3A, plus Hazen, Highline, Kennedy and Bremerton high schools.

The top finisher for the Hornet girls was Chandler Weiman, who covered the 3.1-mile course in 20 minutes, 4 seconds. First across the line for the boys was Cory Johnson in 17:00.
