CROSS COUNTRY: White River scores SPSL runner and coach of the year honors

White River High’s cross country runners Lauryn Wate and Kody Gould were recently named South Puget Sound League 2A Girl Athlete of the Year and Boy Athlete of the Year and coach Dameon Marlow earned boys Coach of the Year honors.

Marlow shared his honor with Washington coach Allen Culp.

In addition to Wate and Gould, Marcus Dickson and Kelly Cole were named to the SPSL 2A first team.

Christina Ramous, Matt Salisbury and Hayden Zirkle were second-team, all-league selections.

On the SPSL 3A side, Enumclaw High’s girls cross country team earned the league’s Sportsmanship Honor and placed three runners on the first-team – Cory Johnson, Chandler Weiman and Emily Eilertson.

Alec Rhome, Chelsea Weiman and Julia Harris were second-team, all-league picks.
