December 7, 2010 · Updated 9:26 AM
Four White River High Hornets finished third with 2-1 records during Saturday’s girls wrestling competition at Emerald Ridge.
Morgan Shirey, Jayleane Summers, Dylan Fagan and Kamy Padgett claimed the third-place honors.
Hornets Tatyanna Barron, Erika Selby, McKinsie Shirey and Kylie Norton closed out the tournament with one win and two losses each for fifth place.
The Hornets wrestled without returning state-placing Sam Mitchell who broke her arm at Thursday’s Graham-Kapowsin takedown tournament and will be out for the season.
The Hornets are scheduled to start the South Puget Sound League 2A season Thursday, hosting Eatonville, and will then hit the Franklin Pierce tournament Saturday.
