The White River High boys basketball team’s overall record dropped to 0-4 after the Hornets lost three nonleague games.

The Hornets hosted nearby Bonney Lake Friday and surrendered a nail biter to the Panthers, losing 51-49, due to an offensive power outage in the fourth period that saw WRHS score a paltry nine points. Bonney Lake surged back from a 27-22 halftime deficit to prevail in front of a disappointed WRHS crowd. Center Nicco Wolfskill and guard Jason Tyler kept the tilt at a fevered pitch, combining for 30 points in the wild affair.

In weekend action the Buckley boys traveled to Longview to participate in the R.A. Long Invitational and lost to R.A. Long Friday 62-46 and Mark Morris on Saturday 73-53. The scoring highlights were Billy Kiel’s 24 points Friday and sophomore guards Alex Sayler and Brandon Dove working together for 26 points against Mark Morris.
