EHS GYMNASTICS: Bannerot bounds to crown

Olivia Bannerot captured all-around honors Dec. 8 as the fledgling Enumclaw High gymnastics team placed second in a four-team meet at Auburn Mountainview.

The host Lions took the team title with 155.100 team points, followed closely by the Hornets’ 154.150. Kentlake was third and Auburn Riverside fourth.

Bannerot won the vault with a 9.2, was second in the floor exercise with a 9.1, placed third in the bars with an 8.05 and added a 6.9 on the beam.

Other highlights for EHS were provided by Kelsey Messer, who placed first in the floor exercise with a score of 9.15; Sarah Lurry, second in the vault with a 9.1 and seventh in the floor exercise with an 8.5; Molly Mattheis, who was third in the vault with a 9.0, placed 10th on the bars and tied for 10th in the floor exercise; and Michelle McKinley, who finished fifth in the all-around after tying for second on the beam, fifth in the bars, sixth in the vault and 10th in the floor exercise.
