EHS GIRLS WRESTLING: Cormier brings home second

Danielle Cormier earned Enumclaw High’s top finish at the Lady Wolfpack girls wrestling tournament Saturday at Jackson High near Seattle. The Hornets took five wrestlers and placed five.

Cormier pinned all three of her opponents including teammate Kasandra Renfrow on her way to the final, where she was pinned in the first round by Rainey Lepper of Mount Baker to take second. It was the sophomore’s first time in the finals.

Renfrow and Jade Paterson finished third.

Logan Erskine bounced back from an opening round loss to finish fourth with a double-overtime victory and Sam Lanting placed fifth for the Hornets.

The Hornets finished sixth out of 33 teams.

Enumclaw will be at Auburn Mountainview Saturday for the subregional tournament. The top wrestlers advance to the regional tournament Feb. 12 in Shelton.
