The Enumclaw High girls will wrap up the South Puget Sound League 3A basketball regular season by traveling to Bonney Lake Friday for a clash against the third-place Panthers.

EHS stood at 2-6 through games of last week – placing them fifth in the six-team division - and had a Tuesday tussle with league-leading Auburn Mountainview; results of that contest came too late to be included here.

The Hornets polished off last week in exciting fashion with a 38-36, Friday victory over their visitors from Decatur. More than a two-point win, the night featured a fourth-quarter comeback that saw the host Hornets outscore the Gators 9-2. The EHS girls had trailed 34-29 heading into the final eight minutes.

Katina Ferguson and Hannah Calvert led the way offensively with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The victory snapped a five-game losing streak.

Last week started on a disappointing note as the Hornets fell Jan. 25 to the last-place Peninsula. The EHS girls were outscored in every quarter on the way to a 54-41 road setback.

Ferguson, who is averaging almost 10 points per game, had 15 in the loss.
