After pulverizing Bethel 14-2 in its March 11 opener, White River High locked down Orting 8-1, annihilated Rainier Christian 12-1 and pounded Lakes 12-4. The Hornets got nipped by Rogers 5-4 Saturday.

Swinging a hot bat for the Hornets is Cole Johnson, who is currently sporting a .615 batting average and went 5-for-5 against Lakes, and Trevor Lubking, who has a slugging percentage of .625. Lubking appears to be the Hornets’ ace on the hill. In 13 innings pitched, he has given up seven hits and sports a 2.68 earned run average.
