Lacrosse squad falls to Bellevue

Lake Tapps bowed out of the state lacrosse tournament with a 17-4 loss to Bellevue May 17 at Bellevue High. With the win Bellevue moves on to the state quarterfinals round.
Lake Tapps opened scoring on a Josh Davenport goal with 7:39 remaining in the first. After Bellevue responded with two goals to take over the lead, Lake Tapps responded with a Michael O’Connor goal with 5 minutes remaining to knot the game at 2-2. But that was all for Tapps as Bellevue took charge, with Cole Johnson scoring the first of 14 unanswered goals through the third quarter. With Bellevue leading 16-2 in the fourth, Lake Tapps finally got back on the board with a Michael Lucchesi goal. Tapps scored once more on an Andy Russell solo shot with 2 minutes remaining in the fourth to close out the scoring.
Ben Kelley had 12 saves in goal for Lake Tapps.
