Beau Rogers, who graduated from Enumclaw High in 2009 and has spent the past two baseball seasons playing for Tacoma Community College, was recently awarded both an athletic and academic scholarship to attend St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.

As a right fielder for the TCC Titans in 2010, Rogers led the team in batting average to earn the TCC Silver Slugger Award by hitting .395.

TCC coach John Thayer is a friend of the coach at St. Edwards and that university’s skipper, Rob Penders, told Thayer all three of his starting outfielders were being lost to graduation. That opened the door for Rogers, who will continue his collegiate baseball career as a St. Edwards University Hilltopper.
