Enumclaw’s Junior Hornets football teams kicked off the season Aug. 20 with a jamboree against the Bellarmine Lions.

The fourth-grade team’s offensive line found itself in the thick of battle, creating holes and providing blocking that allowed Jackson McCann to score two touchdowns.

The fifth-grade team fought hard, while the sixth-grade team went head-to-head with its rivals. The Hornets put the past behind them and walked away with helmets high, keeping the Lions to only three touchdowns. Austin Rewoldt scampered for a 40-yard run thanks to a powerful offensive line. Ty Boise was on fire and did not miss a single snap. Ross Olson snatched an impressive interception and Bear Kuro had a 25-yard touchdown run.

Behind a strong offensive line and aggressive defense, the seventh-grade team tied its game at 21. Highlights included Zack Carroll’s interception and 97-yard return for a touchdown.

The eighth-grade team won 30-6 on touchdowns from Jordan Misensol, Connor Pierce, Scotty Garvin and Dylan Miller.
